Who is Mark Preston?

A wannabe Personal Trainer!

There’s a bit more to me though that just being a Level 4 Personal Trainer in Training, with a specialism in Diabetes Management.

I was diagnosed with Type 3c back on 2010, following a bout of severe acute pancreatitis two weeks before I was supposed to get married. Medical staff weren’t sure I was going to make it, but still here!

It’s taken 15 years, but I’ve finally realised there is a different way of living with Diabetes than I have been. I fought Diabetes pretty much every single day…and lost. I didn’t realise how much Diabetes can effect us mentally, from brain fog to a feeling of complete despair and hopelessness.

Now I’ve accepted it. It’s been hard work, but I’ve changed my mindset, my beliefs.

So now it’s time for a bit of a career change. I’ve been a police officer for some 32 years or so now, much of my career has been as a senior detective leading murder and other major crime investigations. Now though, it’s all about helping people live healthier lifestyles, both physically and mentally, and especially those with Diabetes or those supporting them, because it’s hard for them too.
